Chama Chili Ski Classic

I skied the 5K Classic ski race at the Chama Chili Ski Classic. I am not sure how serious of skiers there were that competed, but none the less it was a bit challenging given the elevation of the course (10,000 feet). My lungs have never hurt so bad...the limiting factor for not doing better was I couldn't get enough oxygen. It was a beautiful course. I surprised myself by finishing 15th out of 82 skiers, 6th overall for women, and 1st in my age group. It does not sound as impressive when you know that the five women that beat me were in the 50's age group.

Awesome Nordic Skiing - Pajarito Mountain at 9,300 feet

I found an awesome place to Nordic ski today. It was like spring skiing in Alaska. In the mid-20's and sunny and beautiful. The skiing was at 9,300 feet so I did not go very far. I will have to work up to it. It was so beautiful though. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

More photos from the Camp Hamilton/Pueblo Canyon trails

Camp Hamilton Trail

I decided to hike down the Camp Hamilton Trail which was a trail used by the original Ranch Camp before the war in the 1930's. This is the trail that the boys would use in the winter to go down to a cabin that was located at the bottom of the canyon. I couldn't find the cabin but the trail was beautiful.

One last photo from our motor bike trip

Motorcycle trip through the Jemez Mountains

Jim and I took our motor bikes and drove a 200 mile loop through the Jemez Mountains and up north. What a beautiful trip!! I still couldn't believe how nice and warm it was with it being October.
